The Liberals’ failure to defend the Bob Brown Foundation’s lawsuit challenging the Robbins Island windfarm project sends two clear messages:
- The Liberals won’t stand up for windfarms
- They are happy to let Bob Brown have a legal veto over new windfarm developments.
The Liberal Government’s approval for Robbins Island – which forced the windfarm to shut down for five months a year – was already inadequate.
Now, it appears they are happy to jeopardise the project even further, placing much needed jobs and power at risk.
If the Liberals truly support new wind farm development, why have they left ACEN to defend the decision against the Bob Brown Foundation?
Why aren’t they standing up to Bob Brown and his outrageous attacks on renewable energy developments, before he inevitably targets the next one, too?
After 10 years of a Liberal Government, Tasmania is in an energy crisis which is damaging our economy.
Despite this, Jeremy Rockliff has shown he won’t support new developments that would help get us out of the mess he’s created.
