After nearly a decade in Government, the Liberals are failing Tasmanians when it comes to the health crisis.
Long wait times for specialists and necessary surgery take an economic, social and personal toll.
There are 8356 Tasmanians on the waiting list for elective surgery and 58,419 patients waiting for a specialist appointment across the state.
If the Liberals haven’t fixed the health crisis in 10 years, they never will.
Every day these individuals wait is a day they are living in pain and their condition is deteriorating.
Those waiting for an urgent neurology appointment in the South – meaning they should be seen within 30 days - are waiting on average 898 days just to get an appointment with a specialist, while those classified as semi-urgent are waiting 1741 days.
Following this they will be moved to the elective surgery waiting list where they will wait again to receive their urgent and necessary surgery.
It is clear that the Government has failed to workforce plan and under the leadership of Premier and Health Minister Jeremy Rockliff, is failing Tasmania.
