For the second time today, Minister Street has made a public statement about the AFL stadium without going anywhere near the question of whether or not it would have a roof.
In a media release issued this afternoon, he instead chose to focus on attacks on Labor to deflect from answering the question.
Given a stadium with a roof is a requirement of Tasmania’s AFL licence, is the Minister now trying to renegotiate the deal?
When fronting the PAC earlier this year, Andrew Dillon was very clear in the AFL’s demands of Jeremy Rockliff – a roof was non-negotiable.
Maybe the more the Liberals scratch beneath the surface of their stadium mess, the more they realise that it is completely ridiculous to think they can build a fully-roofed stadium at Mac Point for less than $715 million.
