Philip Pregnell
Labor Candidate for Franklin
Philip Pregnell is a union delegate for the United Workers Union in the Tasmanian Prison Service and has been advocating for better government since his days as a primary school student.
Philip believes in fairness and equality and wants to be part of a party that cares about the community and state we live in, that will work to improve outcomes for First Nations People and provide a safe state in which his grandchildren and other children can grow and strive.
Philip is also passionate about community, with a focus on children’s wellbeing, and providing improved resources and outcomes for people with mental health issues.
From his time as a primary school student lobbying the State Government to introduce a container deposit scheme, to his lobbying the Federal Government as a young adult to improve the labelling of food containing MSG, Phillip has been proudly involved in the community and fighting for the values he believes in.
He has actively served the Kingston Apex Club for 27 years, including being elected as Apex Australia’s National President, and has been involved with local sporting clubs for 30 years.
Philip fights for his values on a daily basis and his determination to fight for a better deal for all Tasmanians would be a great asset to our Parliament.
