The petition of the undersigned Citizens of Tasmania draws to the attention of the House that the new Spirit of Tasmania ferries are important public assets which have significant cultural, historical and financial value to the people of Tasmania.

We are very concerned that the Minority Liberal Government is planning to sell the new Spirits to pay off their debts.

Your petitioners request the House to call upon the Government to ensure that the new Spirit of Tasmania ferries are retained as public assets and not privatised.
