Tasmanian Prices for Tasmanian Power

The petition of the undersigned Citizens of Tasmania draws to the attention of the House:

Community concern about the impact of skyrocketing power prices on Tasmanians with households facing an 11.88% increase in their power bills, which is an average of $227 a year.

Soaring power bills only add to the cost of living pressures facing Tasmanian families because of raising inflation, rents and interest rates.

Your petitioners request the House to call upon the Government to immediately support legislation to cap electricity prices increases at 2.5% for all households and businesses.
