Labor welcomed Premier Rockliff’s announcement earlier in the week that he would increase day sailings on the Spirits to make up for lost capacity this summer. We encouraged them to be made available for booking as soon as possible because there are people hurting from the government’s Spirits stuff-up, today.
But in a media release Minister Abetz has tried to point to day sailings scheduled for next season, next year. Shameless.
It wouldn’t be the first time Minister Abetz isn’t speaking on behalf of the government, just ask the Premier about former Treasurer Michael Ferguson’s hypothetical vote of no confidence.
Let’s hope for the sake of people relying on the extra bookings that Minister Abetz is acting up again, and additional bookings this season, this year, are imminent.
Premier Rockliff should stand up to his Ministers and hold them to account for misleading Tasmanians time and time again.
