Potholes popping up all over Tasmania

23 September 2024

Under sustained questioning from Labor, Premier and Infrastructure Minister Jeremy Rockliff revealed the extent of Tasmania’s pothole problem under the Liberal minority government.

He admitted that there are approximately 3,000 potholes on Tasmanian roads.

Broken down by region that is

  • 1132 in the north
  • 1622 in the north west
  • 684 in the south

Today’s Estimates has laid bare that the Liberal minority government’s infrastructure record is peppered with failures.

From their botched handling of the biggest infrastructure project in Tasmania’s history the Spirits fiasco, to their derelict management of the state’s roads, this Liberal minority government has failed to deliver for Tasmanians.

Shadow Minister for Infrastructure
