Tasmanian Liberal-Lambie experiment is officially over

29 August 2024

Jeremy Rockliff’s Liberal-Lambie experiment is officially over after Jacqui Lambie announced that she will no longer be running candidates for Tasmanian Parliament.

Having attacked Labor for being critical of her Members, Senator Lambie then sacked two thirds of her party and acknowledged that they had not been doing their job of holding the government to account.

Having Jacqui Lambie Network members in the Tasmanian Parliament was so chaotic that it will never happen again, with Andrew Jenner the last Lambie standing, much like the last Tasmanian tiger in the Beaumaris Zoo.

The instability and uncertainty currently in the Parliament are a consequence of minority government.

Jeremy Rockliff’s minority government is failing, Tasmanians have watched 5,000 jobs lost since the government first went into minority. Now they’ve seen the party propping up the Liberals implode after just four months.

Labor is the only party left who understands that minority government is bad for the economy and bad for Tasmania.
