Peter was born in Tasmania and has family roots here going back to 1804. He left at a young age and returned with his wife Carol to enjoy the Tasmanian lifestyle.

Peter's background is in finance. Having worked full time while studying part-time in the evening to obtain graduate and post-graduate qualifications, Peter understands the financial and time pressures of combining studying and worj.

During his career, Peter witnessed first-hand the impacts of privatisation, and the loss of revenue and poorer service outcomes caused by selling off public assets. That has motivated him to stand for Labor and support the fight against privatisation at this election.
