Richard Goss

Candidate for Lyons

Richard Goss

Candidate for Lyons

Richard and his family are proud Tasmanians and love living and working in Lyons. Richard has worked in education, metal trades and the building industry. He has been a local councillor since 2007 in the Northern Midlands and Deputy Mayor for 6 years. Richard is married to Anna and they have 3 daughters.

Richard believes that all Tasmanians deserve to have a good health system, strong educational outcomes for our children, safe roads to drive on, vibrant employment opportunities and lively, strong business. Unfortunately, in the last few years all indicators in these areas are waning.

Richard's major concerns are cost of living, inadequate health care, before and after school childcare and the current social housing crisis which is unacceptable. He is also passionate about improving safety on our roads.

Working in education, Richard believes that public education is grossly underfunded. He has also seen first-hand how the cost-of-living impacts students and families - how they are struggling with household bills and keeping the family afloat.

Richard is fully engaged in his community and assists people from all walks of life. He is passionate about giving young people opportunities in education, employment, sport and community engagement. He is committed to serving the community and making the Lyons electorate and Tasmania a spectacular place to live, work and play for all.
