Stop health job cuts

The petition of the undersigned Citizens of Tasmania draws to the attention of the House:

That the health system in Tasmania is failing, with emergency, ambulance and specialist wait times all the worst they have ever been and among the worst in the country.

There are already chronic staffing shortages across hospitals, emergency services and allied health services, and health workers are at breaking point.

Cutting jobs in a system that is already struggling is not the answer to repairing the Liberals’ decade of budget mismanagement.

Your petitioners request the House to call upon the Government to protect frontline health jobs from cuts in their upcoming budget.
