Abetz’ callous cuts leave workers in limbo

Eric Abetz already had a reputation for callously sacking workers, and it has been bolstered by the Liberals’ handling of the job cuts at Building Tasmania.

The very least workers deserve in this difficult time is certainty, but the process Eric Abetz has set in motion doesn’t even afford them that.

Despite Eric Abetz’ attitude, these jobs are more than just numbers on a page.

Close to 150 people’s livelihoods are at stake now. With 1,800 Tasmanian jobs slated to be cut, and that number rising every day, Eric Abetz and the Liberals need to start treating the situation with the seriousness it deserves.

Premier Rockliff has put Eric Abetz in charge of sacking workers and cutting services to pay for 13 years of Liberal waste. After making this decision, the very least the Premier could do is treat workers with respect.
