Another broken promise from the Premier
During the election, Premier Rockliff told Tasmanians that TasInsure wouldn’t cost them a cent.
Then, months later – after he broke his promise to offer state owned insurance products that would save Tasmanians $250 – he revealed it will cost more than $4 million to start-up a different entity under the same name that wouldn’t do a thing.
Unsurprisingly, the Premier found it impossible to explain the difference between what he promised and what he’s delivering when questioned in Budget Estimates today.
The Premier’s relationship with the truth has become so loose that he even tried to say that the new “TasInsure” would cost less than the one he promised during the election wouldn’t cost a cent.
The Premier also couldn’t explain why he thought it was acceptable to subvert procurement process in order to hand-pick a consultant to advise him on his ill-thought and impossible to deliver policy.
If he had nothing to hide, why wouldn’t he go to an open market?
Premier Rockliff has become a chronic liar, and he’s shown that Tasmanians can’t believe a word he says.
