Yet another major infrastructure project has suffered a massive cost blowout after years of Liberal inaction.

 

Marinus Link modelling has revealed that the estimated cost of the North-West Transmission Development has increased by $200 million.

 

The Liberals latest blowout raises even more questions about why the Project Marinus Whole-of-State business case is still being kept hidden, when it was received by the Liberals weeks ago. What does it say? 

After 11 years in government, the Liberals have earned a reputation for failing to deliver infrastructure projects anywhere near on time or budget.

 

In the last 12 months alone it’s been revealed that the cost of the Spirit of Tasmania Berth in Devonport blew out by over $400 million after the Liberals forgot to build it, and the AFL High Performance Centre also jumped in cost by $45 million.

 

A Dean Winter Labor Government will ban bonuses for government business executives who fail to deliver.

 

We will also establish an on-time, on-budget infrastructure oversight team to stop the blowouts from happening.

 

After 11 years of the Liberals it’s time for a fresh start for major infrastructure projects, and the only way to make that happen is to vote Labor.
