Another day, still no answers on Liberal legal bills

14 May 2026

Ella Haddad MP

Shadow Minister for Integrity

14 May 2026

Another day, still no answers on Liberal legal bills

When Michael Ferguson racked up a $300,000 legal bill on the taxpayer card, the Liberals explained what it was for.

Another day has passed, and Premier Rockliff still has not explained why taxpayers paid nearly $15,000 in legal fees for Liberal backbencher Mark Shelton.

Tasmanians are also still waiting to hear what Jane Howlett’s $300,000 legal defence was for. Same with Madeleine Ogilvie’s $120,000.

Is it because Mr Shelton is being investigated by the Integrity Commission?

Will the Government answer these questions today?

This is taxpayer money, not Liberal Party money. Tasmanians deserve answers.
