Does the Premier have confidence in TasPorts?

04 December 2024

While it was meant to provide answers, yesterday’s extraordinary TasPorts hearing raised more serious questions about the Government’s relationship with the under-fire GBE.

Does the Premier endorse Tasports’ claims they had no role to play in the Spirits fiasco, and that it was all TT-Line’s fault?

Wasn’t it a perfect example of the damaging blame game the Premier promised to end?

And given TasPorts has shown absolutely no contrition for their role in the fiasco, does the Premier have confidence they are up to the job of delivering projects in the future?

Over the past few years TasPorts has been involved in Nuyina not fitting under the Tasman Bridge, obstructing the development of critical infrastructure at Macquarie Wharf and now the Spirits saga.

The common denominator in all three issues has been TasPorts, yet they have never accepted any responsibility.
