Northern Tasmania is suffering death by a thousand cuts.

Just days after Woolworths announced it would stop sourcing Tasmanian beef processed at Longford, it's now pulling several Launceston-made Tamar Valley Dairy products from its shelves.

And still, Jeremy Rockliff hasn't released his promised Northern Economic Plan.

Boag’s is winding down brewing in Launceston after 145 years. The Hawks are leaving. Liberty Bell Bay has collapsed. Bell Bay Aluminium’s future remains uncertain. On Monday, equipment from Josef Chromy Wines went under the hammer.

One by one, the things that keep northern Tasmania working are being chipped away. Jobs are going. Businesses are closing. Local production is being wound back. 

Premier Rockliff can’t keep treating every loss like bad luck. This is what happens when a government has no economic plan. 

Tasmanian Labor is fighting for the North.

At some point, the Premier has to stop making excuses and start fighting for it.

After 13 years of Liberal waste and incompetence, Northern Tasmania deserves better, we need action and a government that can get things done.
