Greens vote to block 2,000 new homes

29 November 2024

The Greens’ latest self-righteous campaign against much-needed housing developments culminated last night with their opposition to the construction of 2,000 new homes at Sandy Bay and funding for a brand new $500 million STEM facility.

Vica Bayley is clearly familiar with the phrase “do as I say, not as I do” because he tried to tell the Parliament that the Greens support housing and will always support housing.

Well, except for yesterday when the Greens voted against new housing for Tasmania. How will the Federal Greens feel about their decision?

The political grandstanding from the Greens is unrivalled.

All their opposition has demonstrated is that the Greens do not care about Tasmanians who are struggling with unaffordable rents or have been outright excluded from home ownership.

We thought the Greens might have their Max Chandler-Mather moment, but they didn’t and shame on them.
