How will the Premier stand up to Peter Dutton’s nuclear plans?

12 December 2024

Tasmanian Labor welcomes the declaration of an offshore wind zone in Bass Strait.

Tasmania is lucky to have some of the best renewable resources in the world. Renewable energy is the future and unlocks $25 billion of investment in Tasmania.

Unfortunately, all this investment is at risk if Peter Dutton gets his way with nuclear energy.

The Tasmanian Liberals have already made Tasmania the hardest place in Australia to build a windfarm, and we don’t need any more obstacles.

For the sake of Tasmanian jobs and investment, Premier Jeremy Rockliff needs to stand up against his Federal leader’s dangerous nuclear plans.

Janie Finlay MP
Shadow Minister for Energy & Renewables
