If Jeremy Rockliff takes Tasmania to an early election for the second time in 16 months Tasmanians will have a choice.
Between a man who was ultimately responsible for the ferries fiasco and then outlined a plan to sell them, or a united Labor Party that will bring our Spirits home.
In Government, Labor would immediately require TT-Line to take all necessary steps to bring our new Spirits home to Tasmania.
Spirit IV has been sitting in Scottland for six months, wasting millions of taxpayer dollars. Both ships have now been damaged and the government has called them defective.
We have had alternate positions from Jeremy Rockliff and Eric Abetz about whether they will try and lease Spirit V. Labor would not lease these ships. We would bring them home.
Let us not forget Jeremy Rockliff thought it was a good idea to lease our Spirits out as a floating refugee camp in Scotland.
If Jeremy Rockliff decides to go to an election, Tasmanians will know there is only one party that can be trusted to deliver our Spirits of Tasmania home. Once they are home, they should be fitted out and be available for Tasmanians to see and explore while in port.
