Lambie MPs won’t back their leader

17 August 2024

Jacqui Lambie's calls for the resignation of embattled Infrastructure Minister Michael Ferguson have been met with complete silence by her Tasmanian MPs.

After previously telling Senator Lambie to "butt out" of her own party, it seems State MPs Miriam Beswick, Rebekah Pentland and Andrew Jenner now appear to have more confidence in Michael Ferguson than in their leader.

When Tasmanians voted for the Jacqui Lambie Network, they thought they would be electing “fighters” like Jacqui Lambie herself, who would fiercely hold the government to account. Instead, they've found out they just got more Liberals.

Now, as Senator Lambie looks to expand her party across the country at the next federal election, the failure of her three Jacqui Lambie Network MPs to be anything like her should send a warning to voters everywhere.

A vote for the Jacqui Lambie Network is really just a vote for the Liberals.
