Liberals are out of ideas as minority government grinds to a halt

08 April 2025

Jeremy Rockliff’s minority government have proved they’re completely out of ideas as the House of Assembly pulled up stumps almost three hours early today due to a lack of business to debate.

What an embarrassing waste of the scarce Parliamentary time that could and should be spent working to deliver better outcomes for Tasmanians.

Our health system is falling apart, education outcomes are lagging the nation, we are in the middle of a housing crisis, and crucial infrastructure projects like the Spirits have become an international embarrassment.

They aren’t even bringing on basic Machinery of Government changes.

What is the point of this Government? They don’t get anything done and they have no plans, and no vision.

After 11 years in government, it’s clear this Liberal minority government is tired, old, and completely out of ideas.

Shane Broad MP
Leader of Opposition Business in the House of Assembly
