Long overdue Dorset report can’t wait any longer

09 January 2025

With the Dorset community fast-approaching 18 months without the representation of an elected council, Minister for Local Government Kerry Vincent needs to stop stalling and release the Board of Inquiry Report.

The long overdue report was meant to be provided to the Minister for Local Government by 30 April 2024. We should have seen it by now, but in trademark Liberal fashion its release has been delayed and the community has been left waiting.

Local government is a critical and important level of Government that plays an essential role in keeping local communities strong and the Dorset community has been left without an elected council for too long.

Minister Vincent needs to start treating this issue with the urgency it deserves, inform the Dorset community and get the council reinstated as soon as possible.
