Now that’s done, time to get on with the job

10 August 2024

With the $200,000 elector poll concluded, it’s time for Jeremy Rockliff to make a call one way or another on the proposed Devils High Performance Centre.

The terms of the Premier’s deal with the AFL stress that a development application for the HPC must be approved by the end of 2024, and construction be completed by the end of 2025.

As if there aren’t enough concerns about the Liberals’ failure to deliver already, they’re now moving at a snail’s pace on the HPC. It’s been almost eight months since the site was chosen and we still have no designs, no planning application, and the Minister seems to be backpedalling to Kingborough.

Labor supports a HPC on the old Rosny golf course, does Nic Street? Does Jeremy Rockliff?

They were both MIA during the elector poll, providing no leadership and no advocacy.

We can’t afford to have another project fall apart on the Liberals’ watch, the failure to act, failure to deliver and failure to lead needs to stop.

It’s time to get on with the job.

Luke Edmunds MLC
Shadow Minister for Sport & Events
