Panicked Rockliff shedding policies
Jeremy Rockliff should confirm today whether his government has dumped his short stay tax.
Announced as part of his so called ‘strong plan’, the short stay tax was to be put in place to offset the cost of stamp duty concessions.
The concessions were legislated, but the short stay tax was not, leading to a further increase in Tasmania’s massive cash deficits.
Is the Premier scrapping yet another policy?
With the business community calling for his resignation, he needs to come clean on his tax plan.
