Premier completely out of touch on cost of living

23 June 2025

The Liberals have proven they are completely out of touch with Tasmanians with their claim that $100 holiday vouchers were for ‘cost of living’ relief.

They entered this campaign overseeing a budget crisis with Eric Abetz counting numbers to roll Jeremy Rockliff and they now appear to have no idea about the cost of living crisis.

Tasmanians are struggling to put food on the table. They cannot afford rent or their power bills. We have heard from Tasmanians who have had to stop buying meat to survive.

They don’t need $100 vouchers to go on holiday. They need a fresh start and hope for the future.

They need a government that will focus on keeping their costs down – not gimmicks like holiday vouchers that were only announced to make amends for the biggest infrastructure stuff-up in Tasmania’s history, the Spirits fiasco.

Shadow Treasurer
