Rockliff’s Scottish Spirits charade sails on

31 January 2025

Premier Rockliff has decided to extend the Scottish Spirit charade for another month, adding hundreds of thousands more to the already million-dollar cost of hiding Spirit IV in Leith.

If the Government thought this was a positive development, they’d have the Premier or Minister Abetz out making the announcement.

The Government also revealed that the first months’ worth of ancillary costs totalled $250,000 which is even more than the storage costs.

It’s a complete joke for the Premier to keep hiding Spirit IV in Scotland, and Tasmanians will see through this time extension because it’s politically convenient for the Government.

It’s time to bring the Spirits home to Tasmania where they belong, they’ll be safe, we can complete the local fit out and get them ready for service.

Shadow Treasurer
