During the election the Premier promised Tasmanians his TasInsure policy would save them $250 a year on their insurance bills.
He even said it would reduce grocery prices, and that it would not cost taxpayers a cent.
Since then, he has spent $150,000 on an insurance consultant and created a $4.2 million TasInsure bureaucracy.
Nothing has changed and the Premier still can’t say when Tasmanians will see any benefit.
The Treasurer – who has been reluctantly dragged along for the TasInsure ride – couldn’t either.
We do know the Premier is also proposing to pay RACT a monthly retainer to help cover up his broken promise, but today he refused to tell Tasmanians how much it will cost.
Instead of providing much needed cost-of-living relief, the Premier has just delivered more Liberal waste.
