Will Abetz finally denounce Blomeley’s attack on his Premier today?

23 January 2025

With Eric Abetz’ press conference ban being lifted today, the ambitious Minister has an opportunity to address the growing internal Liberal division sparked by Premier Rockliff’s handling of Leonie Hiscutt’s blatant breach of party rules.

Mr Abetz’ right hand man Brendan Blomeley didn’t mince his words when he said the Premier was weak, pathetic and needed to go.

It’s impossible to believe he would have been so strong if Mr Abetz didn’t want him to be.

What does Minister Abetz think of the Premier’s handling of Ms Hiscutt’s breach? And what does he make of Mr Blomeley’s scathing attack?

Anything less than a full condemnation of Mr Blomeley’s comments from Mr Abetz today is a vote of no confidence in the Premier, and will confirm that the division in the Liberal party is growing out of control.

Josh Willie MP
Shadow Treasurer
