Rebecca White MP

Rebecca grew up on a farm and maintains a love of the land and animals. She lives with her young family on a small acreage at Richmond.
Passionate about ensuring there is equality of opportunity for all Tasmanians regardless of where they live, their background or circumstances, Rebecca wants to ensure regional communities are well represented and supported and is committed to growing Tasmania’s reputation as a great place to work, to visit and to live.
First elected to the Tasmanian Parliament in 2010 for the seat of Lyons, Rebecca served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier in the previous government and was later appointed Minister for Human Services. She was the Leader of the Tasmanian Labor Party from 2017 to 2024.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2004 with a combined Commerce and Arts degree with majors in international business management and marketing, journalism and political science. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
