Save the Burnie Hydrotherapy Pool

The petition of the undersigned Citizens of Tasmania draws to the attention of the House:

The prolonged closure of the Hydrotherapy Pool located at the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie. The Hydrotherapy Pool has been closed since March 2020, with the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) having no current plans to reopen it.

The Hydrotherapy pool is a fantastic, purpose built facility, paid for by tax payer funds and should be made available to those in the community who require it. There are no comparable facilities in the Burnie region, which has significant adverse impacts on residents of the North West Coast living with physical disabilities or requiring rehabilitation.

Your petitioners request the House to call upon the Government to reopen the Hydrotherapy Pool at the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie.
